Our Teachers

Every Luma teacher is a career educator and Montessori trained and certified. Together, Our teachers apply the Montessori Holistic approach towards children in the classroom. Our teachers also undertake regular professional development training to keep their skills sharp and maintain relevance to our ever-changing educational landscape.

Your child’s teachers are first and foremost keen observers and masters of understanding how children think, interact, and process information. They notice what your child gravitates toward, where she’s spending her time, how she’s learning, playing, and interacting with others. Her teacher forms a full picture of her interests, strengths, and learning style from constant observation, and then is there to enrich her education through more advanced lessons and guidance at precisely the right time.

Luma Montessori teachers still present lessons, but more often pose thoughtful questions and set forth appropriate challenges for each student depending on his ability level. They constantly move about the room, and spend their time not on discipline—you’ll find that Luma classrooms are uncommonly quiet, orderly, and respectful—but on moments of enrichment and learning breakthroughs.
